I know that no matter what
You will always be with me.
When life separates us
I’ll know it is only your soul
Saying goodbye to your body
But your spirit will be with me always.
When I see a bird chirping on a nearby branch
I will know it is you singing to me.
When a butterfly brushes gently by me so care freely
I will know it is you assuring me you are free from pain.
When the gentle fragrance of a flower catches my attention
I will know it is you reminding me
To appreciate the simple things in life.
When the sun shining through my window awakens me
I will feel the warmth of your love.
When I hear the rain pitter patter against my window sill
I will hear your words of wisdom
And will remember what you taught me so well
That without rain trees cannot grow
Without rain flowers cannot bloom
Without life’s challenges I cannot grow strong.
When I look out to the sea
I will think of your endless love for your family.
When I think of mountains, their majesty and magnificence
I will think of your courage for your country.
No matter where I am
Your spirit will be beside me
For I know that no matter what
You will always be with me.

I have never had a mentor, but you, I want to tailor my life and its works like. I know where you rest with your Heavenly Father peacefully, that you would continue to direct my path. Your shoes are too big to fill, I can only hope that I can achieve this feet, before I leave this world.

Farewell to my Father, Mentor and the Last
Don.

Your Loving Son

In trying to describe High Chief O.B Lulu- Briggs, I am short of words.

The first time our paths met was at Harbour road when he gave me a helping hand through Helen Briggs. Opuda is beyond all reasonable doubts "One in a Million". .

He is extremely observant, attentive to details, a great listener, compassionate to a fault and humble.

Without discrimination, Opuda gave everyone a helping hand. His honest commitment to human rights will continue to serve as a beacon of hope, not just for the Niger Deltans but indeed all over Africa beyond the shores of Nigeria.

I can boldly say, "we have lost an Icon, but his legacy lives on".

Truth be told, it's too hard to say good bye! For we deeply love you Opuda! And your memories will never be forgotten .

Opuda! We but have your footprints to walk on, and earnestly pray that every deposit you have left in us through your uncommon Philanthropism we shall no doubt continue in such direction.

Rest in Perfect Peace, our Divine Gift of inestimable value.

TRIBUTE TO A MAN OF THE PEOPLE; HIGH CHIEF OLUNWA BENSON LULU-BRIGGS

I heard the name, O. B. Lulu-Briggs as a teenager, and at a point I became very fascinated by the glorious and spectacular stories that come along with the name. Of course, the testimonies of great men are incomplete without salt and pepper yet the element of truth remains unbreakable. Every mention of his name got me even more thrilled by his personality and overwhelming testimonies of his goodness and achievements. For the High Chief, no sweat will follow the task of gathering tributary thoughts; indeed, his footprints are from here till sunday; they are near and far, and they carry his legends of excellence in the way he lived his earthly life as a mortal. With due regards for his innumerable services to mankind, he didn't give me money or gold but he gave me Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs; he gave the world himself in a Dumo form; he refused to part with his goodness to mankind, so he chose to live on with legacies that will survive the Earth's tremors and the endless span of eternity. High Chief O. B. Lulu-Briggs lived well and died well.

May God Almighty guide the living; his wonderful family with the blessings of peace, love and progress as we hope and pray that his beautiful soul finds rest at the bosom of his Maker. Amen!
