A SUN LIGHT TO THE IJAW NATION MARCHES TO GLORY.

Death is inevitable and necessary end that must come when it will come. It is also a common denominator, that neither the old nor the young; the good nor the bad ; the rich nor the poor; the fat nor the slim must embrace.
Against this backdrop , we can begin to understand that death has left an indelible mark in the hearts of men .

The glorious home call of our dearly beloved father High Chief (Dr.) O.B.Lulu-Briggs OON, DCF, DSSRS has created a vacuum in the Ijaw nation. Indeed, he lived a life of sacrifice and service to humanity. His philanthropy knew no bounds through the O.B. Lulu Briggs Foundation. I trust he will occupy an honorable status in Heaven , where he now sojourns .

May God bless and comfort his family, especially his successor CHIEF DUMO LULU BRIGGS , and indeed the
Ijaw nation.

TO THE PRICELESS FATHER OF HUMILITY THAT NATURE HAS BLESSED MANKIND WITH

To be able to talk about a man of good character is a Privilege.
Opuda as he was fondly called was an epitome of hardwork, love and selfless services to humanity. High Chief (DR) Olu Benson Briggs, Iniikeiroari the fifth of the Kalabari Kingdom and Paramount Head of Oruwari Briggs House of Abonnema, was a business mogul, an adventurer,an entrepreneur, a man of words, a man of peace, an husband and a son to the widows, a brother, a guidance, an adviser, a solicitor and a father to the young ones and sundry whose traits he successful transferred to his heir Chief Barr. Dumo Lulu Briggs.
When thinking about the title of this entry, I was indecisive and speechless about whether it should be “To a Great Man of Character” or “To a Man of Great Character”. First, in the world’s eyes I don’t know if daddy would be characterized as a “Great man”, in the general terms of incredible success professionally or in terms of good will. Most persons who knew daddy focused on who "HE WAS AS A PERSON". Indeed It was HIS SELFLESS CHARACTER that impacted others, and most who knew him (including myself) found themselves wanting to EMULATE HIM.
I’m not sure of the best way to put this but DADDY gave his life in the service of others. He was a PHILANTHROPIST whose ALTRUISM NATURE knows no bound, he was KIND, OBSERVANT, CHEERFUL, ATTENTIVE, KNOWLEDGEABLE, COMPASSIONATE, SUPPORTIVE and most of all VERY HUMBLE, he has EMPOWERED many people.
He is one man that is CHARITABLE, he provides humanitarian to people in rural areas, to the WIDOWS, to the CHILDREN, to the YOUTHS, to every single thing that has breath thereby FEEDING them, SPONSORING them, FUNDING SCHOLARSHIPS as well,
In one occasion he has spent some of his FOUNDATION money to develop modern TOILET SYSTEM and QUARTERS for INMATES of Port Harcourt PRISON.
His saving grace also reached out the STUDENTS of the UNIVERSITY of PORT HARCOURT as he built and donated HEALTH CARE CENTER for them.
His blessings has reached far and new, OLD and YOUNG, CITIZENS and NON-CITIZEN. The man was never a RACIST.
I never had the OPPORTUNITY to meet you in person, I've only seen your words in action, I've heard your name from the ones you've blessed even the ones that didn't get a chance also talks about you.
I wonder what KIND of MAN HE IS but HE REPRESENT THE "MAN I WISH TO BE IN WOMAN FORM".
Risen in Peace daddy
We love you and won't forget your sacrifices...
ABONNEMA CHILDREN WILL MISS YOU
ABONNEMA WIDOWS WILL MISS YOU
You've been an embodiment of Grace.
Thank you for your selfless services, i appreciate, they appreciate
Abonnema endlessly appreciate,
Kalabari appreciate,
The World heard of your foot print and has also given their appreciation..
